Democratized Campaigning

First and foremost, I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season. Personally, I had a great time with my kids and other family members yesterday, and am looking forward to welcoming a new year. As for the campaign, I'm posting this blog entry today because I had an idea and couldn't wait to share it.
We are used to campaigns being ran top-down, with the candidate at the helm. Since I am determined to empower you in everything I do on your behalf as a member of Council, I recently contemplated the benefits of applying my philosophy of service in elective office to my campaign. I don't want to run a campaign driven solely by my ideas. Rather, I want a campaign which views the ideas of its volunteers as equally important to my own.
By democratizing my campaign and making it all-inclusive, I hope to inspire a spirit of active participation in the people. What kind of campaign would you like to see? Join me now, bring family and friends, and let's change the way politics works in our society!
