It’s hard to believe, but the 2017 Election is almost here. On the eve thereof, City Council will meet, and you can expect another demonstration by a number of citizens of Newark feeling betrayed by what happened with our Gazebo. I fully expect that that Mayor will be there this time, and I hope he plans on responding to their concerns and requests for answers. Prior to the Council meeting at 7pm, these citizens plan on convening in the area of the Square where the Gazebo used to sit. From there they will proceed to Council Chambers to be heard.
Also on the agenda for this Council Meeting – as you will see by reviewing the below-posted agenda as well as the minutes for the Rules Committee – is an ordinance (as discussed last week) which will – if passed – create a Charter Review Study Group to explore the question of nonpartisan elections in Newark. 2017 had marked an incredible journey for yours truly.
You know what’s awesome to think about? We’re only getting started.
